Welcome to Campus Couture, a segment of La Salle TV’s Backstage Pass brought to the Collegian, talking about all things fashion at La Salle. This is Campus Couture’s first fashion coverage of the top 10 Oscars red carpet looks of all time.

The upcoming midterm elections on Nov. 6 will not only decide the Pennsylvanian congressional representatives but also whether Congress flips the switch from red to blue. Democratic candidate Scott Wallace is determined to flip the switch.

As it gets closer to November, campaigns and election talks ramp up. One conversation that comes up during election season is the representation of women. 

On Nov. 6, United States citizens voted in the midterm elections. The midterm elections are the general elections held every four years near the middle of a president’s term. Positions up for election include members of state legislature and the United States Congress.

First District candidates are preparing for this year’s upcoming midterm election on Nov. 6. Depending on how this election goes, we could be facing a Democratic majority house.

BCCC’s Student Government Association (SGA), ran by the students, for the students, held their election for the executive board last spring, where students voted for their elected officials online.

In 2016, Pennsylvania legalized medical marijuana. This meant that that applicants with one of the qualifying 21 conditions could go to the Pennsylvania Department of Health website and have access to a list of physicians in Pennsylvania that can certify them to purchase medical marijuana in any of the dispensaries in the state.

La Salle University’s well-renowned Nonprofit Center is a hidden gem amongst the students at La Salle. Despite being a beacon in the professional world of nonprofits in the Greater Philadelphia area and beyond since 1981, the students at La Salle know little about the Nonprofit Center, its offerings, and discounted rates for students.

La Salle University offers many resources for career skill building and tries to position its students to be ready to enter the job field of their choice.

On Sept. 30, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Students  Government Association (SGA) will run elections via email for the elected representative positions.

The Student Life department held the first ever Student Involvement Fair, previously known as Club Palooza, on Wednesday and Thursday last week in the Linkz Pavillion. The Student Involvement Fair brings students together with the clubs and departments of the college.

On Nov. 1, The Republican Club hosted an addiction crisis panel at the Zlock Performing Arts Center. Members of the Republican Club brought two guest speakers to the Newtown Campus to raise awareness of the current addiction crisis in America.

Bucks County Community College program STEMgirlz hosted an event called “Discovery Day” on the Newtown campus last month. Middle School girls were invited to engage in various hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) related activities with professionals in those fields.

Officials from Bucks County Community College and the County of Bucks on Oct. 17 announced the construction of a new building, the ‘Bucks County Center for Economic & Workforce Development’, at the college’s Bristol Township campus.
